Muzukidz, a non-profit that provides musical education to underpriveleged children recently took to the Artscape Opera House’s stage alongside the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in a dazzling display of music and hope:

Cape Town, South Africa (07 May 2024) — Late in April, a dazzling experience unfolded for Muzukidz students. The budding musicians got to sparkle under the Artscape Opera House’s spotlight whilst being accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time ever in what was deemed a spectacular evening for music and opportunities.

Muzukidz is a non-profit company that’s dedicated to providing musical education to underprivileged children in South Africa; making musical dreams reachable through their tutoring.

Five of the talented Muzukidz performers are also students at Camps Bay High School, and did a sterling job of making their school proud.

Ogechukwu Arukwe (Grade 9) Siphesande Makele (Grade 9) Zukhanye Mbatsa (Grade 9) and Alizwa Tibisono (Grade 9) and Inam Sondaka (Grade 8) relished in their moment at the Artscape Opera House. Along with the other Muzukidz students, they got to showcase their skills with confidence; dancing to the rhythm of the music they helped co-create with the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and artists like Tarryn Lamb, Lynell Kennedy, Lize Beekma and Robin Pieters at the Suideoosterfees.

For the Camps Bay High School students, Muzukidz played an important role in helping them reach a brighter educational opportunity; assisting them with their applications to the school as Camps Bay High’s Carol van der Spuy shares.

Carol adds that the Grade 9 violinists had their school fees paid for by the Camps Bay High’s Class of 1988 in a generous act part of their 35th reunion celebration last year. There, they fundraised to support deserving learners at the school!

Muzukidz are almost always up to something awesome, and you can support them here.
